01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

One reported platter combining yakisoba and rice was so large it could be shared by 4 to 6 people. Rather than taking on a whole platter alone, it seems well suited to a meal where friends gather around and pick at a variety of dishes. Soba-meshi was also described by one diner as having a flavour “everyone can enjoy”. It makes a different choice from yakisoba as the centrepiece of a meal.

At one gathering, diners ordered a wide range of dishes, including yakitori, cucumber with ume plum, dried horse mackerel, thick Japanese omelette, pizza and ham katsu. A platter of yakitori alongside beer or shochu mixed with soda would make for a lively table. Small plates and alcoholic drinks are also listed. The diners at that gathering said the dishes they ordered were homemade and served piping hot. One visitor also enjoyed seasonal eel chawanmushi, a savoury steamed egg custard, so the appeal may extend beyond familiar snacks to dishes that change with the season.

Den offers dine-in meals and is also listed as an option for late-night dining, staying open until 3:00 the following day on Fridays and Saturdays.
